Are you interested in Student Union activities? Do you want to make an impact on things in Xamk? Would YOU be next year’s author? Student Union of South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences is searching a new board for 2021!
In cooperation with the student union employees, the board is responsible for implementing the student union’s action plan and promote the affairs and well-being of Xamk students both at Xamk campuses and at the national level. The members of the board represent students in different teams and working groups of South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences and bring a student perspective to Xamk’s decision-making.
In the board, you will be able to make Xamk even better place to study, get to know new people and gain valuable experience in influencing and advocacy activities. The requirement is membership of the student union Kaakko (i.e. you have a valid student card), an open-mind and a desire to commit to the activities for a whole year. You don’t have to have previous organizational or influencing experience, but it can be useful.
We offer you the opportunity to learn new skills and develop yourself in a safe and supportive team, and through this activity you will have the opportunity to create nationwide networks for yourself for the future.
We pay a fee for working as follows:
- President of the Board 800 €/month for 12 months. We expect you to work for about 100 hours/month.
- Vice President of the Board 450 €/month for 10 months. We expect you to work for about 100 hours/month.
- Board Member 100 €/month for 10 months. We expect you to work for about 100 hours/month.
In addition, it is possible to obtain study credits (internship or free-choice studies) and an official work certificate.
The application period for the student union Kaakko’s board will begin on 9th of November 2020 and end on 21st of November 2020 at the organizing meeting of the Representative Council, where the new board will be elected. Anyone who wants to join the board should attend in that meeting remotely or from your own campus.
The elected members of the board will be familiarized with the operations before the start of the operating period and orientation will be arranged on 11-13 December 2020. The board’s term of office is a calendar year, and the elected members of the board must commit to the operations for the whole year.
