What is tutoring?
The purpose of tutoring is to integrate a new student into an educational institution. The tutor organizes various leisure activities for the new students, helps and supports them in starting their studies and acts as the first friend of the new student.

Where and how can I register?
Registration for the tutoring course takes place in connection with the enrollment for the spring course on 1st-15th October 2020 in Peppi.

What does the course consist of?
The course includes tutor training and tutoring itself. The education consists of two short courses, the first of which is the basic education of the course and the second is a tutor camp. The dates of the training will be announced to those who have registered for the course by the end of the year.
During the course, the student chooses one of four specialization options: degree tutoring, hobby tutoring, online tutoring or international tutoring. After completing the education (1 ECTS), the student receives the remaining 4 credits by doing tutoring in his / her own field of specialization. Thus, a total of 5 credits can be obtained from the course.

When can I start tutoring new students?
The course will be implemented during the spring of 2021 and the tutoring itself will start during the 2021-2022 academic year. Tutoring is done for 1 year, after which tutoring can be stopped or you can participate in the course again and continue tutoring in the academic year 2022-2023.

Do I need to sign up if I am continuing a tutor?
If a student wants to continue as a tutor, he or she must register for the course again. Continuing will therefore tutor groups starting in the academic year 2021-2022. In this case, the student does not have to attend the training again if he or she does not want to attend some other specialization training. It is possible for continuing tutors to get another 5 credits. In total, there is a possibility to get as many as 10 credits from tutoring.
